Soqrat Tarabia

Personal Profile

Sheikh Socrat was born in Shafa ‘Amr in historical Palestine on Friday night of  7 Rabi’ al-Awwal, 1408 AH (October 29, 1987 CE) in a Druze family practicing the Doctrine of Monotheism (al-Tawhid).

Sheikh Socrat hails from the House of Tarabia, a noble and ancient Arab clan going back to the Banu Haritha tribe of the Tayy tribal confederacy.

Sheikh Socrat was raised from a young age to love his people’s religion. After completing his studies in Shefa ‘Amr, he went to the shrine of the Prophet of God Shua’ib (pbuh) in Hittin to receive his religious education there, and then he went on to Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt and al-Bayada shrine in Lebanon to receive religious instruction in 2000.

From an early age, he was a lover of the Ajaweed and sheikhs, and he sought to meet them, greet them, and write down their stories and conversations. He then attended religious instruction at the Shrine of the Prophet Judah (pbup) near Baniyas to complete his religious studies at the hands of the late Sheikh Abu Zain al-Din Hassan al-Halabi and the late Sheikh Abu Ahmed Saeed Al-Safadi.

He studied religious and historical knowledge and various legal sciences such as jurisprudence, hadith, interpretation, and brilliance. With the authorization and trust of Sheikh Abu Zain al-Din, Sheikh Socrat was appointed as the primary teacher for the students for several years. Despite Socrat' young age, he surprises you with his maturity, the beauty of his style, and his dealings with students. He taught, studied, and shined in many places and countries. He gave a number of lectures for the Druze Heritage Project and for the local Druze Youth Movement at the shrine of our master Abu Abdullah (pbuh) in Isfiya for the students of Al-Ashraq School at the time.

Sheikh Socrat is an avid reader and has a number of important and carefully researched articles on the Druze Da’wa, preachers, and the burial places of the prophets and saints. He undertook a number of historical and educational trips for groups of interested people and students to ruins and holy places, including visiting Damascus, the Umayyad Mosque, and Jabal al-Druze in 2007.
