
Wajdi Hasan Jamil
Personal Profile
Born in Umm al-Fahm, Israel, to a family from the depopulated village of Lajjun, Wajdi is a renowned Palestinian educator, scholar and community leader. He served as school principal and teacher for 35 years, as vice-mayor of Umm al-Fahm and is currently a member of the municipal board.
He published extensively about the history of Umm al-Fahm and al-Lajjun, including the most thorough account of their history to date. He also wrote papers and volumes dedicated to al-Quds/Jerusalem, Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi, 'Izz al-Din al-Qassam, rebel commanders Sa'id al-'As and Yusif al-Hamdan, Fawzi al-Qa'uqji and more.
He is married and has 4 sons and 7 grandchildren, with God's blessing.
